In Shabdkalpdrum the word Saundarya is defined as properly constructed and well defined body parts, which cannot be achieved without proper function of Agni. Proper function of Dosha and Dhatu primarily depends upon Agni, and as per Achrya Charak Agni is in the form of Pitta in our body. Prabha and Varna is the function of Avikrit Pitta and Agni. To keep Agni appropriately, timely intake of food is mandatory. In Charak Samhita, ahara is considered as a fuel for Agni.
